Q- Our school already has a research based school wide bully prevention program. Is the “Strands” program meant to replace that program? A - No. “Strands” is designed to be used within the framework of a school wide program. Research shows that due to the social nature of bullying, neither a one time presentation, nor any classroom curriculum can be successful alone. However, an effective awareness raising presentation and a class meeting curriculum are each important “strands” of an overall program. Our presentation is meant to raise the awareness of your school, and our movie and handbook are easy to use tools to help your entire school work together to prevent bullying. |

Q - I am a teacher and I don’t know how they expect us to prepare for standardized testing and deal with issues such as bullying at the same time. How are we supposed to find the time to do all these things? A - Strands of Truth was designed specifically to allow teachers to meet high academic standards at the same time that they teach concepts of bully prevention. Nobody wants you to have less time to spend on academics. Strands of Truth includes up to date projects, discussion questions, and handouts which allow you to fit concepts of bullying prevention right into the academic lessons you are already teaching. |

Q - As a school resource officer, I’d like to get into the classrooms more so I can get to know the students and do more in the way of prevention. But, where do I start? A - “Strands” is the perfect way for you to get started. The screenplay for the movie, “Strings of Fear” was written by a criminal prosecutor, with scenes based on real incidents from schools, and the idea of showing typical bully related crimes. The book “Strands of Truth” has discussion questions related to scenes in the movie, and provides you with the specific criminal law of your own individual State for each of the crimes presented. It’s all right there for you so you can get started now. Be sure to order the version of the book for your State or Country since, as you know, the criminal laws differ in each. |

Q - I’m an advisor for a church youth group, and I’d like to find bully prevention materials that are Bible based. Is your Christian version based on the Bible, and would it be appropriate for middle and high school church groups? A - Yes. The Christian handbook is very different from the secular handbooks, and each lesson contains direct reference to scripture. A responsible adult should review the movie before showing it to the youth. |

Q - Does the movie come in both VHS and DVD? A - No, at this point in time, the movie is available only on DVD. |

Q - Why are there different versions of the handbook for different states? A - There are different versions of the handbook for different states because the criminal laws in each state are different, and each version of the handbook contains the criminal laws specific to that state. |

Q - Your website says your program is available for youth K-12, but the movie and book are for Grades 6-12. What do you have available for younger children? A - Rhonda Denny presents half hour interactive presentations to children K-3 and 45 minute interactive assemblies for children grades 4-5, which are tailored specifically for these age groups.
